Subsequent Building Alterations

Sadly the original historic William Watson Victorian era building located at 117 was demolished around 1967, replaced with a factory which has since been replaced with 3 townhouses, none of which have any front or back open garden space.

This is the 1895 MMBW map. The valued front and back yard open garden space marked green which these 3 Victorian era terrace homes once had has since been lost and are now mostly built over by the redevelopment.

Heritage Significance and Listings

Heritage Listings and Explanatory Notes

The group of townhouses recently erected at 111, 113, 115 & 117 Abbotsford street site that replaced the previous earlier factory and before that 3 homes that had unique social and historical value and constructed during the Victorian period, the new build has zero historical or social heritage significance and it has a minute amount of usable open garden space unlike other existing Edwardian and Victorian homes that the surrounding area have.
