Social History
Hi, Hotham History Project might be interested in a few letters I’ve scanned and uploaded, relating to a family who lived on the corner of Abbotsford and Arden Streets in the 1875 and 1876: Possible boarders at the British Hotel.
They were the parents of Alice Cook, who married James William Munday (he was my grandfather’s great-uncle). She died young, in Western Australia, and he not long afterwards in Melbourne, after his ship was wrecked near Busselton in WA.
