Social History
One of the 25 pioneers of the 8 hour movement, Joseph & Mrs Georgina Batten once lived at 228 Dudley street West Melbourne. Joseph passed away in 1890. Unfortunately their home no longer stands. Today a 9-storey tourist hotel now stands on the land of his original family home he once shared with his wife Georgina.
