Social History
1914 & 1907,.
ELDER.—In loving memory of my loving wife, Lavinia, who departed this life on the 5th December, 1889, at 63 Dudley-street, West Melbourne.
Why weep at death when life is so much sadder?
Life with its partings and its bitter tears;
Life with its blighted hopes and blank to-morrows;
Life with its sad sweet longings and its guilty fears,
—Inserted by her loving husband, John Elder.
