Social History
After temporarily renting in 1867 in nearby Roden Street, West Melbourne, John and Julia Noone and their six children took possession of their home at 32 Stanley Street after 12 March 1868, the date of purchase from Henry Sanders. Situated on the north side between King and Spencer streets, the block was advertised as half an acre (0.2 ha) but John ended up with title to a quarter acre.

1906. On the 16th December, at his brother’s residence, 80 Stanley Street, West Melbourne, Albert William Blay, the beloved husband of Annie Blay, third son of J. Blay and the late Kate Emma Blay, aged 24 years and 4 months. Patient sufferer gone to rest.
