“The evolution of the house begins with humble single storey, single fronted houses, built together, with the enterance door alongside the dividing wall, and a passage leading through to the rear.
A cast iron fence might seperate verandah from street, and a frieze was often added as decoration. 88-94 Abbotsford Street, West Melbourne.”
