Social History
Dear Melbourne Streets,
Great work on your historical documentation on Melbourne’s past heritage! On your page about Heaton House, West Melbourne, you list a Henry C (Charles) Raynor as the owner/renter of the property from 1900 to 1905. Henry’s correct name spelling should be:
- Henry Charles Rayner
On another note, Henry’s eldest daughter, Selina ‘Lena’ Rayner, had her wedding at Heaton House on April 2 1901. I have attached the wedding announcement from The Age newspaper at the time. Thank you for taking the time to read my email.
Regards, Shane Nelson
