It’s thought Mr Edward or Edmund Boland, was born second of fifteen children in Melbourne to Irish parents Michael Boland and Elizabeth Brady, natives of County Galway and County Clare Ireland respectively. Father, Michael at the age of 21, arrived in Port Phillip in 1853 on the ship ‘New Zealander’ while Elizabeth, at the age of 16 years, arrived onboard the vessel Hotspur on the 25th of June 1855 as an assisted immigrant. Michael and Eliza were married a short time later on the 5th of July 1855. Edmund was born in 1857 and married Margaret Jane Charles in Victoria in 1893. Mr. David Lauder was a native of Perthshire Scotland, his wife Jane Hosie hailed from Forfarshire Scotland. They were married in 1857 at Dundee Scotland and chose Melbourne as their new home to settle. Other brothers William and James (spelt Landers in some records) were first to arrive in Melbourne in 1852, on the vessel ‘Australia’ while 26 year old brother David Lander arrived in 1858 on the vessel ‘Oceanica’. David’s 24 year old wife Jane arrived one year later in 1859 on the vessel ‘Greyhound’. Mr. Webster was a native of Ceres Fifeshire Scotland and his wife Agnes Lonie (or Lowrie) was from Cupar Fifeshire Scotland. Agnes arrived in Melbourne in 1854.
